Mechanical Bull
Luke owns a mechanical bull. Originally, Luke's Father bought the bull from a bar that was closing. His Father bought the bull so he and Luke would be able to practice bull riding. However, Luke's Father passes away, and now Luke has this old bull sitting in a barn they no longer use. Luke still practices on it. The mechanical bull symbolizes Luke's Father. Luke misses his Father, and still wants to make him proud even though he is gone. Luke still practices on the bull because otherwise he feels as if he is letting his Father down. Luke feels as if he needs to ride the bull or he will do poorly in his next competition.

The Deli
The deli represents Sophia's past and her family. The deli is owned by her family, and she worked in their deli while she was in high school. Sophia did not care for working at the deli. She would rather being working somewhere that involved art. However, working at the deli shaped Sophia into the woman she is today. When Sophia thinks of her family, she thinks of the deli. Her family spends most of their time working at the deli. Sophia is not very proud of her past, due to the fact that her family owned a deli. Sophia wished that her parents had worked some place more normal, like working in an office.

Portrait of Ruth
The portrait of Ruth symbolizes Ruth and all her great qualities. Ira receives a portrait of Ruth after she had passed. It was by far Ira's favorite painting they owned. The portrait captured all of Ruth's wonderful qualities. Even though the portrait was painted by a complete amateur. You could see the happiness in her smile, the warmth of her presence in her skin, the love and care for everyone around her in her eyes, and could see and feel her tender embraces in her arms. It was as if Ruth had never left this world.

The Cabin
The cabin symbolizes Luke and Sophia's rekindling. Luke and Sophia had had some disagreements about bull riding, and other typical couple fights. Every time they fought, or their relationship felt rocky they would end up going to this cabin. This cabin was quite far from home, and very secluded. Being all alone in this cabin they found it easy to talk, get along, and just be in love. They spent countless nights at this cabin, sitting by the fire in silence wrapped in each others arms. Without this cabin their love and relationship may not have survived.
