Summary
Sophia Danko is a beautiful, tall, young, blonde woman. Sophia is in love with art, and is majoring at Wake Forest College in art history. Sophia's heart is broken now from a recent breakup, and has no idea how her life is about to change. Sophia meets Luke, a rugged cowboy, at a local bull riding event. Sophia and Luke fall in love shortly after meeting. Sophia transports to a whole new world when she is with Luke. Sophia is used to frat boys and her sorority sisters, but Luke introduces her to life on a ranch and bull riding. Sophia is ready to disregard all plans she had for her future, and make a new future plan with Luke. Luke is certain he wants to spend the rest of his life with Sophia, but there is one thing holding him back...a secret he is not ready to share.
Ira Levinson is an old and sad man. Ira is 91 and mourning over his wife's death from nine years ago. Ira is now in great trouble. He is stranded in his car on an embankment after a car accident. Ira is in poor health and ready to leave the world when suddenly an image appears in the passenger seat. Ira sees his wife, Ruth, next to him. Ruth forces Ira to hang on to his life. Ruth and Ira relive their life together through stories while Ira waits for someone to come to his rescue. Ruth urges Ira to talk to her about the paintings they had collected together, his time in World War II, and the effects these things had on them and people around them.
